Match input and internal output connections to circuit voltage, current, heat rise, bend space and connector requirements.
BACKUP POWER
Define the actual DC voltage, current profile, protection and routing before choosing an internal wire.
POWER DISTRIBUTION
Evaluate internal branch and auxiliary connections against enclosure space, terminal geometry and equipment requirements.
| Connection / design need | Related products | What to confirm |
|---|---|---|
| AC / auxiliary internal wiring | UL1015 ↗UL10070 ↗UL1028 ↗ | PVC candidates. Compare conductor range, finished diameter, circuit voltage and terminal fit. |
| Larger-gauge PVC connections | UL1283 ↗UL1284 ↗ | Compare insulation dimensions, conductor stranding, routing space and heat rise. |
| Heat-exposed internal routing | UL3271 ↗UL3289 ↗UL3133 ↗ | Crosslinked or silicone candidates. Verify circuit rating, thermal duty and mechanical protection. |
| Small-gauge hot-zone circuits | UL3135 ↗ | Silicone candidate within its verified gauge range. Not an AWG4 substitute. |
| Higher-voltage architecture | UL10269 ↗UL10974 ↗UL11627 ↗ | Verify the exact AC/DC rating of the supplied construction. An AC rating does not establish DC suitability. |
Selection guidance only. A candidate UL AWM style is not equipment approval or a statement of GFINE certification coverage. Confirm the exact supplied construction, current UL information, GFINE file coverage, conductor range, AC/DC rating and required flame test before supply. Do not infer a DC rating from an AC rating.
01
Compare conductor stranding, finished diameter, bend behavior, temperature rise and terminal compatibility. A different style requires evaluation; it is not an automatic drop-in replacement.
02
Require explicit suitable DC coverage for the supplied construction. A 600VAC marking alone is insufficient. Do not treat 2000VAC as 2000VDC.
03
Assess coolant or oil exposure, abrasion, vibration and mechanical protection separately. An insulation family alone does not establish fluid resistance.
Not on a style-for-style AWG4 basis. Historical UL pages list UL1028 at 22-6 AWG and UL3135 at 26-12 AWG. Confirm the current style and supplied construction before substitution.
An active electrical cable (AEC) is a data interconnect, not a replacement for equipment power wire.
No. Confirm the supplied wire against the circuit and equipment requirements. Current capacity depends on gauge, temperature, bundling and installation.
Send the equipment type, connection drawing or BOM line, working voltage (AC/DC), current profile, ambient temperature, gauge, maximum finished diameter, terminal details and required approvals.
